Senior Accountant

Report To: Director of Finance

Location: Lexington, KY (on-site required)

Position Type: Full-time, Salary

Position Summary

This position will report directly to the Director of Finance and be the second in charge of the Company’s accounting function. No two days will be the same in this role. The Senior Accountant will lead month-end close activities and provide financial analysis to the Director of Finance. This role is best suited for a dynamic, self-starter who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and pitch in to get the job done.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Preparing and posting journal entries

• Preparing monthly balance sheet account reconciliations

• Preparing financial statements

• Performing monthly balance sheet and income statements variance analyses

• Assisting in the design and preparation of budgets for review by management

• Maintaining and reconciling fixed assets schedules

• Overseeing sales and use tax reporting

• Assist with annual financial statement audit and 401k plan audits

• Other accounting and audit related duties as assigned

• Participate in cost accounting changes and variance analysis review

Experience and Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in accounting or other related field

• 5 or more years of relevant experience

• CPA a plus, but not required

• Cost accounting experience is a major plus, but not required
